About this course

This course explains how ransomware attacks start, through malicious attachments, downloads and fake software updates, and the warning signs that an attack may be under way. It explains why backups and updates matter, and what to do in the first minutes if something looks wrong. It’s written for every employee, with no technical background needed.

Ransomware can stop an organization’s work entirely: files are locked, systems go down, and attackers demand payment, sometimes threatening to publish stolen data. Most attacks begin with an ordinary action, such as opening an attachment or installing a fake update, and the early warning signs are often missed. How quickly people recognize and report them can decide whether an incident affects one laptop or the whole organization.
