About this course
This course explains what a conflict of interest is and why it matters even when nobody has done anything wrong. It covers how to declare one, how gifts and personal relationships can create one, and when outside activities such as side jobs, board roles or investments need to be disclosed. It’s written for every employee and uses realistic scenarios.
Conflicts of interest are common and usually innocent: hiring a friend’s company, managing a relative, or taking on a side project. The problem comes when they aren’t declared, because a decision that seems fair from the inside can look like favoritism from the outside. Undeclared conflicts erode trust, can call decisions and contracts into question, and are hard to defend once they come to light.
