About this course

This course teaches how to build an application that gets read. It starts from the job itself: what employers screen for, and how to read a job ad for its real requirements. It then covers turning experience into evidence of skills, including gaps, short jobs, career changes and skills from study or volunteering; writing a CV for both a person and an applicant tracking system, with Finnish conventions as the worked example; cover letters and the open application; an online profile that matches the CV; and tailoring and checking the package for each application, with AI as a drafting aid that never invents anything. The capstone is a complete application package for one real job ad.

Applications are often screened quickly, sometimes first by software, and a generic CV sent to every vacancy rarely stands out. Learners who can tailor a package to each job in reasonable time apply with more confidence and waste less effort. For employment services and study programs, the course gives every learner the same solid method, and a finished package that a counsellor can review with them.

  • Practice on real tasks and an applied assignment

A certificate that lists the skills is issued when every section is completed and the applied assignment is submitted.

Yes. Every course stands on its own, so a learner can take any combination, in any order.

About 8 hours of guided learning, in modules, at the learner's own pace, plus the applied assignment.

A piece of real work that puts the skills to use, done on the learner's own situation: their own job search, business idea, skill to sell or everyday tools. A learner who would rather not use their own details works on a provided fictional job seeker or business instead. The learner checks the work against a rubric.
