About this course

This course teaches the practical skill of asking an AI tool for what you actually need. It covers how to write a clear request, give the right context and examples, refine an answer that isn’t quite right, and ask for results in a usable format. Learners practice on everyday tasks such as summarizing documents and drafting replies. It’s written for every employee, with no technical background needed.

Most people try an AI tool, get a vague or generic answer, and decide it isn’t worth the effort. Others spend longer rewriting the output than it would have taken to do the task themselves. The problem is rarely the tool; it’s that nobody showed them how to ask. As a result, organizations pay for AI tools that people use rarely or badly, and the time savings they expected don’t appear.

It supports one, where a rule asks that people are trained on the subject, and TechClass records who completed it. Whether a requirement is met depends on your own policies and processes, so that is a question for your compliance lead or legal adviser.

An Essentials course gives everyone the concepts and rules in about an hour. A Skills course goes deeper for the roles that need it: about 8 hours with practice, a graded assessment and a certificate that lists the skills, licensed per learner.
