An overview of EU and UN sanctions, how EU, US and UK rules differ and when they apply, secondary sanctions, ownership and control, and when to escalate, with Finland as the example.
AreaFinancial Crime, Sanctions and Fraud Prevention
This course explains what sanctions are and who imposes them, how EU, US and UK sanctions differ and when each applies to a business, how secondary sanctions can reach a company outside the US, the key restrictions, how ownership and control make a company count as sanctioned, and who escalates what. Finnish law illustrates national enforcement. It’s written for the people who deal with customers, suppliers, payments and shipments: sales, procurement, finance and compliance.
Sanctions change quickly and apply through everyday transactions: a new customer, a reseller in a third country, a payment routed through the wrong bank, a company whose owner is on a list. The person closest to the deal is usually the first who can notice, and the one who has to know when to stop and ask. The course gives those people a common understanding of the restrictions and a clear escalation habit, so the organization’s sanctions checks happen before a contract is signed rather than after.

Yes. Every TechClass user license includes the Essentials courses in the Course Library, and this is one of them. There is no fee per course or per learner.

Yes. A certificate of completion is issued when the knowledge check is passed, and the completion is recorded for your reporting.
It supports one, where a rule asks that people are trained on the subject, and TechClass records who completed it. Whether a requirement is met depends on your own policies and processes, so that is a question for your compliance lead or legal adviser.
Library courses are ready to use as they are. You can build and fully edit your own courses in TechClass, including from your own policies with the AI Course Creator, and combine both in one learning program.
An Essentials course gives everyone the concepts and rules in about an hour. A Skills course goes deeper for the roles that need it: about 8 hours with practice, a graded assessment and a certificate that lists the skills, licensed per learner.
