About this course
This course prepares learners for every stage of selection. It explains how hiring decisions are made and what interviewers assess, then builds a bank of evidence stories with the STAR method, including stories from study, volunteering or a career break. It covers behavioral, situational and difficult questions, how to recognize and respond to questions that may be discriminatory, and the formats learners now meet: phone and video interviews, one-way recorded interviews and AI screening, panels, practical tasks and assessments. A module on nerves, presence and interviewing in a second language is followed by pay, references, follow-up and learning from a rejection. The capstone is a story bank matched to a real job and a recorded mock interview with a self-review.
A learner who arrives with researched answers and real examples can show what they can do, even when nervous or speaking a second language. The course gives learners a method they can repeat for every interview, and gives counsellors and program staff a shared structure for mock interviews. The recording stays with the learner: only the self-review is submitted.
- Practice on real tasks and an applied assignment
A certificate that lists the skills is issued when every section is completed and the applied assignment is submitted.
